This source is an example of negative press around unpaid internships. It was written in response to the death of an intern during his summer internship. The 21-year-old was found dead in his apartment after apparently pulling three all-nighters for work. While it is hard to determine whether the conditions in this work environment were specific to the company referenced, or the cause of the young man's death, it is an interesting view of how internships carry much more significance to people than just an interesting summer experience.

This video was published by Google as a means to give the public insight into what it is like to be an intern at Google. Notorious for it's unique work environment, this source provides a sharp contrast to the Independent article. The interns at Google appear happy and excited about their work, far from the dismal picture painted about the Merrill Lynch interns. It is also interesting to compare this video to the commercial of the Hollywood portrayal of the same job.

This source is useful in getting an understanding of what general expectations of interns are. While much of this authoethnography centers around what students expect going in and their opinions, it interesting to read about what makes a good intern, from an honest employer's perspective. This article provides another voice on the topic, and it is a useful resource for potential interns.

This source is especially useful for the artifact analysis section of this report. Creating a good resume is an essential part in obtaining almost all internships. Most college students do not have a resume prepared when they arrive at college. Articles like this one can help students understand what to put on a resume, how to format one, and why creating a clean, professional looking resume is so important.
